Exporting Your Print PDF
Prepare your manuscript for printing by exporting a clean, properly formatted PDF.
Why This Step Matters
Your exported PDF is what gets printed.
If something is wrong here, it will show up in your final book.
Export as a PDF (Not Word)
Your manuscript must be exported as a PDF file before uploading.
Do not upload:
- Word files (.doc/.docx)
- Google Docs files
Recommended PDF Settings (Word)
When exporting from Microsoft Word:
Go to:
File → Save As → PDF
Then select:
- Optimize for: Standard (publishing online and printing)
- ✔ Preserve document structure
- ✔ Embed fonts
Embed Fonts (Important)
If fonts are not embedded:
- text may change
- formatting may break
In Word:
- File → Options
- Save
- Enable:
- ✔ Embed fonts in the file
Bleed Settings (If Your Design Uses It)
If your book includes:
- images extending to the edge
- full-page backgrounds
You must include bleed settings
Otherwise:
- you may get white edges after printing
Final File Requirements
Before exporting, confirm:
- Page size matches your trim size ✔
- Margins and gutter are correct ✔
- Page numbers are consistent ✔
- Table of Contents is updated ✔
- No blank or misaligned pages ✔
Review Your PDF Before Uploading
After exporting:
- Scroll through every page

Do not skip this step
