You’ll upload your files, enter your book details, and publish through Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing.

You’re taking your completed ebook and:
- Creating a Kindle ebook listing
- Uploading your EPUB and cover
- Setting pricing and publishing options
This is the final step before your book goes live on Amazon.
Step 1: Create a New Kindle eBook
- Go to your KDP dashboard
- Click Create → Kindle eBook
This opens the setup process.
Step 2: Enter Book Details
Fill out the core information:
Basic info:
- Book title and subtitle
- Author name
Description:
- A short summary of your book
- This is what readers will see on your listing
Keywords & Categories:
- Choose relevant keywords
- Select appropriate categories
These help readers find your book.
Step 3: Upload Your Files
Manuscript:
- Upload your EPUB file
Cover:
- Upload your cover image
Preview:
- Use KDP’s built-in previewer
- Do a quick final check
Make sure everything still looks correct after uploading.
Step 4: Set Publishing Options
Territories:
- Usually set to All territories
Pricing:
- Choose your price
- Select a royalty option (typically 70% if eligible)
Keep this simple for your first book—you can adjust later.
Step 5: Publish Your Book
- Click Publish Your Kindle eBook
Your book will enter Amazon’s review process (usually within 72 hours).

- Review typically takes up to 72 hours
- Your book will go live once approved
You’ll receive a confirmation email when it’s published.
